In the current DeFi ecosystem, the comparison of cross-chain asset yields has always been a challenge. The yield rates on different blockchains are difficult to compare directly, and the performance of the same strategy on different chains can vary greatly. This situation is akin to a country having multiple currencies without a unified exchange rate reference, which is quite confusing.
To address this issue, Treehouse is developing an innovative solution aimed at establishing a 'cross-chain Exchange Rate table'.
The core concept of Treehouse is TESR (cross-chain interest rate standardized anchor point). TESR extracts a reference interest rate through on-chain consensus from the main revenue sources such as staking, re-staking, and arbitrage on the Ethereum mainnet. This reference interest rate can serve as a benchmark for wallet earnings, a reference for asset interest rate compensation in cross-chain bridges, a basis for interest rate spreads in stablecoin protocols, and even as a tool for adjusting local economic incentives in L2 networks.
Treehouse has also introduced the concept of tAssets, such as tETH, which can be issued across multiple networks like Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base. Regardless of which chain users interact on, all yield returns are calculated based on the same logic, eliminating the understanding barriers and yield ambiguities between different assets.
This innovative initiative is of great significance. It not only simplifies cross-chain asset management but also provides users with a more transparent and easier to understand yield structure. By standardizing yield calculation, Treehouse is bringing higher efficiency and better user experience to the Decentralized Finance ecosystem.
However, this project still faces some challenges. Ensuring consistency across different chains and how to cope with the rapidly changing DeFi environment are issues that require continuous attention and resolution. Nevertheless, Treehouse's efforts undoubtedly point to a promising direction for the future development of DeFi.
