Sky Strife: Analysis of the Economic System of the Full-Chain Game

The full-chain game Sky Strife has recently launched on the Redstone mainnet. As of now, the game has generated over 1000 battles, with 798 registered players.

Compared to the game mechanics of Sky Strife, its economic system may be more complex for novice players. The current Sky Strife economic system includes the ERC-20 token Orbs(🔮), the game season pass Season Pass NFT, and the new concept Sky Key. This article will briefly analyze the tokenomics of Sky Strife and its operational situation.

Orbs(🔮)

Orbs(🔮) is the most important token in the Sky Strife game, with a total issuance of 100 million tokens, and the total supply is fixed. Except for a few tokens that have been distributed to winning players through game rewards, the remaining tokens are stored in the Sky Pool contract address.

This season, creating a match costs 100 Orbs(🔮). After each match, the system pays rewards from the Sky Pool to the winning player. The reward amount is 100 Orbs(🔮) multiplied by a reward base, which is dynamically adjusted based on the total number of games completed in the past 7 days.

The reward base adjustment mechanism is as follows:

  • When the number of game completions in the past 7 days is low, the reward coefficient increases, up to a maximum of 500 Orbs(🔮)
  • When the number of games completed in the past 7 days is high, the reward base decreases, with a minimum of 10 Orbs(🔮)
  • The number of games completed in the past 7 days remained stable at 1000, and the system reached equilibrium.

In each round, player rewards are distributed according to game rankings. This mechanism aims to suppress speculative behavior, ensuring that only real players exist in the system.

Season Pass

A few days before the start of each season, Sky Strife will launch a Season Pass minting event. The Season Pass is not a requirement to participate in the game, but holders have special privileges.

The minting cost for this season's Season Pass is 0.03 ETH, and holders enjoy the following features:

  1. Freely set entry fees or game whitelists
  2. Select all types of initial heroes
  3. Enter the exclusive map
  4. Participate in exclusive battles

Season Pass is only valid for the current season and cannot be used across seasons.

Sky Key: The Changes and Constants of Game Rules

Sky Key holders have management rights over the Sky Strife World contract and Sky Pool, and can adjust the following parameters:

  1. Map
  2. Hero
  3. Architecture
  4. Troops
  5. Topography
  6. Game Reward Mechanism
  7. Season
  8. Season Pass
  9. Open Source Game Frontend

But the basic mechanisms of the game underlying cannot be modified, including:

  1. Core game logic (health points, strength, movement, attack, etc.)
  2. Core Economic Mechanism of the Game (Creating Matches, Sky Pool, Battle Reward System)

Currently, Sky Key is controlled by the development team Lattice, with plans to return to the community in the future.

Actual Operating Conditions

reward base

On the first day of the mainnet launch, a large number of competitions created caused the reward base to quickly drop from 5x to 0.75x, and Orbs(🔮)'s total circulation has entered a deflationary state. Since the reward base is calculated based on the total number of games in the past 7 days, it won't be possible to recover until May 9 at the earliest. Currently, the enthusiasm for creating new competitions has significantly decreased.

Orbs(🔮) price

Redswap helps the market quickly realize the pricing of Orbs(🔮). After the early sell-off, the price has stabilized around 0.1 USDC/Orbs(🔮). However, the current pool size is small, and there is still a risk of price volatility.

Season Pass (Season 1)

According to data from redstone.market, the total minting volume of the Season Pass has exceeded 500. There is about 1 day left until the end of the minting period, and the number of new mints has significantly decreased.

As the first full-chain game on the Redstone mainnet, Sky Strife achieved impressive launch results, and its economic system serves as a reference for future entrants. Whether it can be truly player-led in the future and avoid speculative traps still requires ongoing observation.
